KAINAAT Investment Limited has dragged Lusaka lawyer Mutemwa Mutemwa to court demanding payment of US$40,000 and K30,000 for groceries he allegedly obtained on credit since 2016. According to a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court, the company stated that it was trading in groceries and that Mutemwa was a customer from about December 2016 to about September 2019, during which [period] he had been availed a number of credit facilities. Kainaat Investment stated that using these facilities, Mutemwa obtained various goods on credit and issued post-dated cheques as well as undertakings to pay for goods at a later stage. The company stated that it would show at trial that during the highlighted period, Mutemwa had accumulated debts...
