CHAPTER One Foundation has argued that the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) is obligated to verify the safety, quality and efficacy of all medicines and allied substances that are manufactured and imported into the country. The Foundation has also argued that the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZMMSA) is not merely a storage facility but bears duties to ensure the quality of medicines and medical supplies stored and distributed by it as provided for in section 5(k) of the ZMMSA Act.
