Govt shuts bars, nightclubs, casinos, to operate on a takeaway basis

GOVERNMENT has announced the closure of all bars, taverns, nightclubs and casinos which will only operate on a takeaway basis for the next 14 days, subject to review. Speaking during a press briefing, Monday, Ministry of Local Government Permanent Secretary Mathew Ngulube urged proprietors of the businesses to ensure adherence to the directive. He warned that businesses that would be allowing individuals to drink from the car parks will have their licenses revoked. “Clearly there is a large challenge in terms of compliance to operating within the stipulated hours as well as observing the COVID-19 rules.
