THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has written to lawyers representing the three individuals claiming ownership of the infamous 48 houses in Chalala area, demanding K1.5 million as costs incurred by the commission in a matter which was discontinued before the High Court. Earlier this year, Uziel Bashire, Zuberi Bigawa (both Tanzanians) and Charles Loyana, a senior accountant at the Ministry of Finance discontinued a matter in which they were seeking among other claims, a declaration that the arbitrary seizure and continuation of holding on of the properties by the ACC despite the claim made by the rightful owners was unlawful and illegal.
