THE Zambia Union of Government and Allied Workers (ZUGAW) has sued the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) demanding the repayment of over K250,000 that was erroneously transferred to its account. ZUGAW, through its secretary general John Nsululu has told the Lusaka High Court that the union ceased to be a member of ZCTU when government erroneously transferred K252,642.99 as remittances for membership. According to the statement of claim, Nsululu stated that the transfers were made based on the ZCTU’s misrepresentation of facts to the government as they claimed that the matter was still in court awaiting determination hence the government’s reluctance to stop remittance of the alleged membership fee.
