Mongu mayoral candidate for UPND sues PF rival over defamatory campaign

MONGU UPND mayoral aspiring candidate Matakala Nyambe has dragged his PF opponent Bright Tombi-Tombi to court for allegedly referring to him as a murderer and a criminal not worth the people’s votes. According to a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court, Nyambe stated that on May 5, 2021, while campaigning at Mukango area in Mbekese ward of Nalikwanda Constituency, Tombi-Tombi maliciously uttered defamatory words against him that “…Yeni yema ni yena minange ya bizwa Matakala…ba bulaile mutu…hamuna kumubona fa (the one I am standing against, my young brother called Matakala…they have a person…you never see him here)”.
