Two get 20 years over death of suspected gasser

THE Ndola High Court has sentenced a female and a male to 20 years imprisonment for causing the death of a suspected gasser. It was alleged that on February 20, 2020, the convicts jointly and whilst acting together with a mob, burned and injured Sonny Kunda, the now deceased. This was after the suspected gasser was dragged out of the police cells where he was being kept for safety. Rachel Mpundu, Dominic Musonda, Bright Chishala and Jospeh Kaoma were jointly charged for the murder of Sonny Kunda. However, when the matter came up yesterday before Ndola High Court Judge Mary Mulanda, Kaoma and Chishala were acquitted for lack of evidence against them, while Mpundu and Musonda were found guilty.
