Abolishing meal allowances has helped more students to get scholarships – Luo

PF presidential running mate Professor Nkandu Luo says the ban on meal allowances has benefited a lot of students as many learning institutions are on loans and scholarships. And Prof Luo says the opposition has nothing to talk about besides discrediting her using the ban on student meal allowances. In 2019, government abolished meal allowances for University of Zambia and Copperbelt University students. Then, Higher Education Minister Professor Luo announced at a media briefing that government had instead added more public universities to the loan scheme.
