Home Affairs threatens to ban campaign roadshows if violence persists

GOVERNMENT has warned that it will not hesitate to ban political party road shows if they continue to be used as a recipe for anarchy. And government has condemned the conduct of PF cadres who attempted to disrupt the UPND road show in Mandevu Constituency on Thursday. Speaking to journalists, Friday, Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Masiye Banda said those that wished to continue with road shows should adhere to the provisions of the law. “The Ministry of Home affairs wishes to express its sadness on the increased number of political violence cases and intolerance exhibited by some political parties that have been recorded ahead of the August, 12th general elections this year.
