UPND complains to ECZ over Kambwili’s tribal remarks

UPND secretary general Batuke Imenda has written to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) on the continued tribal sentiments from PF member Chishimba Kambwili. In a letter dated 29th June 2021, and addressed to ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Patrick Nshindano, Imenda stated that Kambwili’ s continued remarks were provocative and were criminal according to the penal code. “We note with serious concern and sadness the silence by the Electoral Commission of Zambia on the following: The continued hate speech and scathing tribal attacks on president Hakainde Hichilema and the Tonga people by a senior PF member Mr Chishimba Kambwili in a provocative manner aimed at making certain ethnic groups to react.
