US Embassy questions restrictions on opposition parties while govt officials campaign

US Embassy in Zambia interim Charge d’Affaires David Young says the Embassy is worried about the unbalanced treatment of political parties during the campaign period. Speaking when he featured on Hot FM “Breakfast Show”, Tuesday, Young expressed concern over the application of the public order act where opposition parties were required to get permission to conduct an event while government officials were not. “I would say there are several areas of concern; one is how the public order act is applied.
