Zambia paying civil servants better than other countries in the region – Chimbwali

PUBLIC Service Management Division (PSMD) Permanent Secretary Boniface Chimbwali says the country is doing better than most countries in the sub-region in terms of civil servants’ salaries. In an interview, Thursday, Chimbwali said government was happy with the success it had recorded in the civil service and that the introduction of the debt swap would be another positive step. “When you compare, you people who understand these figures, just our payroll compared to the inflow which comes from the revenue, we consume more than 50 percent, just our salaries.
