Conditions of service at ACC are pathetic – ACC official

ANTI-Corruption Commission (ACC) senior legal and prosecutions officer Gloria Muyunda has described the conditions of service for most ACC workers as “pathetic”. And Muyunda says the idea of seeking consent from the Director of Public Prosecutions before the commission can prosecute most corruption offences is cumbersome. Speaking at the Zambia Anti-Corruption Conference, during a panel discussion dubbed “is the legal framework supportive of an effective anti- corruption fight?”, Wednesday, Muyunda said one of the major challenges ACC faced was inadequate funding. “The Anti Corruption Commission is an establishment from the Constitution, so our mandate emanates from the Constitution.
